Russell Ranch hosts many visitors and field trips throughout the year. Approximately 400 people visit Russell Ranch annually to learn about sustainable agriculture.

education_contentRussell Ranch has hosted annual field days since 1994. This year, the field day took place on Thursday May 21st, 2015 with the theme, "Nitrogen through soil, space and time: using tools and amendments to improve nitrogen cycling." Click here for more about the event. Last year, faculty, extension and students presented on soil health. Click here for more about last year's event.

In the past, field days have featured grower panels, tractor demonstrations and presentations of research findings. The field day in 2008 focused on how growers cope with increased energy costs (read about it in the SAFS newsletter).

In the past, Russell Ranch produced a newsletter three times a year that reached approximately 1250 recipients. See the newsletter archives here. The SAFS website also provides newsletters, press reports and a presentation on improving agricultural runoff management (SAFS website). Russell Ranch acts as a living laboratory for several agronomy and soil science classes on campus, as well as hosting several undergraduate internships, and hosts numerous national and international visitors each year.
