by admin last modified Feb 09, 2017 04:12 PM

The SA&FS major opened to enrollment for freshman the Fall 2011 application cycle; i.e. for acceptance in Fall 2012. The first SA&FS graduating class, in other words, graduated in Spring 2016. For general information about applying to UC Davis, visit the undergraduate admissions website.

For freshman applicants:

When you apply to UC Davis, choose Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems as your major. For more information, check out the General Advising, Restricted Electives, and Internship Program tabs on the website.

If you would like to speak with a student adviser, make an appointment to see a Peer Adviser at appointments.ucdavis.edu.

For current UC Davis students:

Visit the advising office at least once a year to maintain a three-quarter study plan. Your advising staff wants to see you! Make an appointment to see a Peer Adviser at appointments.ucdavis.edu.

For current UC Davis students who want to switch into the major:

Go to your student portal and submit a new form for a change of major. Go to the General Advising, Restricted Electives, and Internship Program tabs on the website and decide which of the three tracks you are choosing within the SA&FS major. Download a blank study plan and fill in with major-specific classes that you are interested in taking. Call the front office and make an appointment to see a Peer Adviser. During that advising session, you and the Peer Adviser will create a three-quarter study plan from the study plan you’ve created.

For students transferring to UC Davis who have already been accepted:

Switch into the SA&FS major during your second quarter of enrollment here. Then follow the description for current UC Davis students who want to switch into the major.

For students applying to transfer admission for the upcoming quarter:

Declare SA&FS as your major as a part of your original application. Once accepted into the university, follow the description for current UC Davis students who want to switch into the

major.
