Call for 2023 Eric Bradford & Charlie Rominger Agricultural Sustainability Leadership award

The nomination call for the 2023 Eric Bradford & Charlie Rominger Agricultural Sustainability Leadership award is now live. After being on hold for a few years we are excited to relaunch this award opportunity that recognizes and honors individuals who have exhibited the leadership, work ethic and integrity epitomized by the late Eric Bradford, a livestock geneticist who gave 50 years of service to UC Davis, and the late Charlie Rominger, a fifth-generation Yolo County farmer and land preservationist. Nominations are due April 28th, 2023. 

Fresh Focus Impact Report 2022

Learn more about Fresh Focus activities, accomplishments and people. The Fresh Focus program reduces food loss while supporting student access to fresh produce. It is a central component of the Student Farm's efforts to build a more equitable and just farm and food system by cultivating student initiative, leadership, and experiential learning.

Opening: Farm and Garden Education Coordinator

The Farm and Garden Education Coordinator will develop culturally relevant and responsive programming for the Children’s Garden Program and other Student Farm efforts, coordinate educational programming related to internal and external tours, and coordinate and manage all aspects of the Children’s Garden program.

1. What did you major in and when did you graduate from the UCD and what was your position at the Student Farm? 

I double majored in Anthropology and International Agricultural Development, and I graduated in 2017. When I worked on the farm, I worked in the Market Garden, and, for the last 2.5 years at the Student Farm, I worked as the Order Coordinator, organizing the orders from the Dining Commons on campus. I also oversaw the microgreens when I worked at the farm.

Aggies Grow Veggies is a movement to get more students growing their own food! By building deeper roots among our communities, we hope to make gardening more accessible, affordable, and appealing for all UC Davis students.
