Join us for a morning of fun and exploration at the UC Davis Student Farm Ecological Garden as we celebrate California Biodiversity Day! This event is free and open to the public. Come explore, discover, and make a difference!

Drop in anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to explore the garden's diverse ecosystem by participating in the California 30x30 Initiative BioBlitz.

A BioBlitz is a fun way to discover the nature around you while helping scientists learn more about local biodiversity. Using the iNaturalist app, you'll photograph the plants, animals, fungi, and insects you find. Every observation helps document the incredible wildlife that calls the area home.

We'll provide an introduction to iNaturalist and tips for capturing great observations. Want to get a head start? Watch this video before you arrive! You'll also have the chance to sample fresh Student Farm vegetables and enjoy hands-on garden crafts. Pack a lunch and relax at one of our picnic tables!

Can't make it to the Student Farm? You can still participate in the BioBlitz from your own backyard, neighborhood, local park, or schoolyard. Join the "Find 30 Species for CA Biodiversity Day 2026" project on iNat and snap photos from anywhere you want. Every observation counts!
