As Assistant Coordinator to the Ecological Garden, and Coordinator to the Floriculture program - Kieran thinks toward the agroecological landscape of the Student Farm.
Kieran discovered a love agriculture as an intern at Frog's Leap Winery, working across 200 acres of production on the trail blazing, and ecologically conscious edge of organic agriculture. Over five years with Frog's Leap, and through undergraduate studies in Ecological Management and Restoration at UC Davis, he developed his skill in thinking about how the agricultural and ecological interact in our farmlands, and impact and are impacted by our production systems.
His position at the UC Davis Student Farm allows him to combine his passion for agricultural production and agroecological systems, with education and community outreach. In building the production systems and ecological management strategies of the Student Farm, he hopes to stay in close conversation with UC Davis' extensive network of researchers and help develop the future strategies of sustainable agriculture.
