6th Semillas y Culturas - Seeds & Cultures Summit

Our hope is to raise awareness and share ideas about sustaining foodways across communities and generations through a series of workshops, speakers, and food sharing.

Workshop Topics include:
- Identifying and stewarding foods of California and the Americas
- Sustaining Foods, Saving Seeds - the why and the how of saving seeds of important plants
- Mesoamerican Foods & Foodways - Tasting & Talking
- Discussion: Balancing connection to culture and place in the context of displacement and climate change
- Propagation of California and Mesoamerican Plants (take home your plants)
- Seeding and transplanting plants that sustain your community (take home your vegetable starts)
- Soil Violence & Restoration - taking care of your soil
- Foraging at farm edges - how to find and cook "weeds" of California
+ resources and Q&A for prospective transfer students interested in sustainable and just food systems.
