ASI is hiring a Communications Coordinator (Public Information Representative)  - 100%  (This position is located in the ANR Building on Hopkins Road.)

Position description:

• Under general supervision, responsible for improving awareness of Agricultural Sustainability Institute (ASI) and its units, major initiatives and projects around key issues in sustainable agriculture and food systems; interacting with stakeholders through listening and responding to key audiences; and providing an indispensable information resource for target audiences. ASI's target audiences include farmers and ranchers, policymakers, non-profit and network organizations, agribusiness leaders (including processors, distributors, food retailers and institutional food service companies), students, the media, consumers, and University of California collaborators (including colleagues in UC Cooperative Extension).
• In collaboration with ASI staff coordinate, plan and implement ASI strategic communication plan through stakeholder communication and outreach, and media/public relations; revise and maintain ASI program websites; establish and maintain liaisons with the media; and develop a wide range of materials in various media.
• Act as key member of ASI's core support team, offering coordination of communication for all ASI units. Leads work teams on communication projects, and supervises contract, temporary, and student communication positions
