Russell Ranch Director Kate Scow and fellow UC Davis faculty Thomas Harter, Helen Dahlke, and Toby O'Geen weigh in on the importance of measuring, managing, and protecting our precious groundwater resources.

The faculty wrote an article for Capitol Weekly to share how their thoughts on how researchers and farmers must work together to better understand an manage groundwater resources.  The article highlights work happening at Russell Ranch to better understand the impact fertilizer use has on groundwater, pilot programs throughout California to flood farms this winter to recharge groundwater, and new tools for identifying the best places in the state for banking groundwater.
